Reel Spooled Charters is a St. Augustine-based fishing charter and online marine store built around a love for fishing, boating, and time on the water.
Captain Trever Dorics currently focuses on private inshore fishing charters throughout Northeast Florida’s flats, creeks, backwaters, and Intracoastal areas. These trips are designed for families, kids, first-time anglers, experienced fishermen, locals, and visitors who want a fun fishing experience without running far offshore.
Trever is fully licensed and insured to operate fishing charters in Florida. In addition to his USCG captain credentials, he holds an FWC Charter Captain license, allowing him to charter in Florida beyond a single vessel-specific charter boat license.
Through the Reel Spooled online marine store, we also offer boating, fishing, and marine products for anglers, boat owners, and families who enjoy life on the water. Our goal is to connect customers with practical marine products while bringing real on-water experience to the business behind the store.
St. Augustine Inshore Fishing Charters
Our standard charter options are 3-hour, 4-hour, and 6-hour private inshore fishing trips. Depending on the season, tides, weather, and conditions, trips may target redfish, trout, flounder, black drum, sheepshead, mangrove snapper, and other Northeast Florida inshore species.
Every trip is planned around the conditions for that day. Captain Trever will help choose the approach that gives your group the best chance for a safe, fun, and memorable trip on the water.
Freshwater trips and specialty trips may be available by special request depending on Captain Trever’s schedule, travel distance, season, and trip goals. These trips require more planning and may have different pricing or license requirements, so please text us before booking if you are interested in something outside of our standard inshore charter options.
Meet Your Captain
Captain Trever Dorics
Captain Trever Dorics is a lifelong Floridian with years of experience on the water and a deep respect for Florida’s fisheries. He grew up fishing the Tampa Bay area and other Gulf Coast waters, and his time on the water eventually led him to earn his captain’s license and build a career in the marine industry.
Trever holds a 500-ton Master/2nd Mate Unlimited License, an FWC Charter Captain license, and has more than 16 years of professional maritime experience, including heavy civil marine work and operating along the Gulf of America, East Coast, and Florida waters.
As a charter captain, Trever enjoys helping guests feel comfortable, learn something new, and make memories on the water. Whether it is a child catching one of their first fish or an experienced angler working toward a personal best, his goal is to make each trip safe, relaxed, and memorable.
What to Bring on Your Charter
To stay comfortable on the water, we recommend bringing:
- Sunscreen, preferably lotion instead of spray
- Hat or head covering
- Sunglasses
- Long-sleeve sun shirt
- Drinks and snacks
- Any personal items you may want for the day
What Reel Spooled Provides
- Saltwater fishing licenses for guests
- Rods, reels, tackle, and bait
- Cooler with ice
- Required safety equipment
- Fish cleaning for legal-sized keepers, when available
Safety is always part of the trip. Reel Spooled Charters carries required safety equipment, and Captain Trever is First Aid and CPR certified.
Freshwater fishing licenses are not included and must be purchased separately by each guest when required by FWC.
